During the investigation, law enforcement allegedly conducted multiple undercover purchases of cocaine from John Clement, 27, of Bangor.
The Bangor Police Department and Penobscot Sheriff’s Department responded to assist the MDEA in stopping Clement as he was traveling in a vehicle on Hammond Street.
During the stop, law enforcement allegedly discovered 440 grams of cocaine.
Clement was arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
He faces three counts of aggravated trafficking of Schedule W drugs, and charges related to alleged probation and bail violations. The charges are aggravated because Clement has a prior drug conviction and because of the substantial quantity of the drugs allegedly seized.
Clement was also on probation following a prior drug conviction at the time of his arrest, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
