The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are set to return to Maine this weekend for the first time since 2021, headlining The Great State of Maine Air Show at Brunswick Executive Airport.
The two-day event will take place Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, at the airport located at 15 Terminal Road in Brunswick. Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. both days, with the same aerial performance schedule planned for Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s air show features one of the largest aviation lineups in Maine history.
The Blue Angels’ precision flight demonstration will serve as the headline act, drawing aviation enthusiasts and families to Brunswick for a weekend of high-speed maneuvers and military aviation displays.
Also scheduled to perform are the Royal Air Force Red Arrows, the famed British flight team known for its red and blue smoke displays. Brunswick will be the Red Arrows’ only New England stop during their limited U.S. tour.
The U.S. Air Force F-35 Demonstration Team is also expected to appear, marking its first-ever performance in the state of Maine.
Other scheduled performers include the USAF C-17 Demonstration Team, elite aerobatic pilot Mike Goulian, Warbird Thunder, and the Vacationland Jumpers.
In addition to the aerial performances, attendees will have the opportunity to view rare static displays on the ground, including large military aircraft such as the C-5M Super Galaxy and the C-17 Globemaster III.
Tickets for the event are available online only. Organizers say Saturday passes are completely sold out, though general admission and premium seating tickets remain available for Sunday through the official Great State of Maine Air Show ticket portal.
Organizers are also warning attendees that there is no official livestream of the event and are urging the public to be cautious of online scammers claiming to stream the performances.
Parking is free on-site. With tens of thousands of spectators expected over the weekend, event coordinators are encouraging attendees to arrive as early as possible to avoid traffic and to stay hydrated during the hot summer weather.
