The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance (MassFiscal), in partnership with Americans for Prosperity (AFP), will host a town hall Thursday evening in Boston focused on government spending, taxpayer accountability, and what organizers describe as the need for greater transparency and oversight in state government.

The event will feature Fox News contributor Joe Concha alongside state and media figures for a discussion on government waste, fraud, abuse, and the growing fiscal burden facing Massachusetts taxpayers.

Scheduled speakers include State Rep. Ken Sweezey, Fox News contributor Joe Concha, AFP Northeast Region Director Ross Connolly, MassFiscal Executive Director Paul Craney, Maine Wire reporter Jon Fetherston, The Grace Curley Show host Grace Curley, and Boston Herald reporter Tim Dunn.

The town hall is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at a downtown Boston location that will be disclosed to attendees after they RSVP.

According to organizers, the discussion will examine state spending trends, fiscal accountability, and ways to improve transparency in government decision-making. Panelists are also expected to discuss how public policy affects taxpayers and the role of watchdog organizations and the media in scrutinizing government actions.

Longtime Fiscal Watchdog

Founded in 2011, the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance has become one of the state’s most prominent taxpayer advocacy organizations. The nonprofit focuses on promoting lower taxes, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and greater transparency in state government.

Over the past decade, MassFiscal has regularly weighed in on state budget proposals, tax policy, transportation funding, public pension issues, and energy costs. The organization also publishes legislative scorecards and analyses tracking lawmakers’ votes on fiscal issues, often encouraging greater accountability for elected officials.

Led by Executive Director Paul Craney, MassFiscal has become a frequent voice in Massachusetts policy debates, advocating for reduced government spending and opposing what it considers excessive taxation and regulatory expansion.

Americans for Prosperity, a national grassroots advocacy organization, has similarly focused on economic policy, government accountability, and free-market reforms through state-based initiatives across the country.

Organizers say Thursday’s event is intended to provide an opportunity for citizens to hear directly from policymakers, journalists, and policy advocates about the challenges facing taxpayers and the importance of government oversight.

Members of the media interested in interviewing AFP Northeast Region Director Ross Connolly before or after the event are asked to contact organizers in advance. Attendance is available by RSVP, with the event location provided upon registration.

If you are interested in speaking with Ross before or after the event, please send your name, outlet, email and phone number to:

To RSVP to the event, email [email protected] . Location of the event will be provided upon receipt of RSVP.
