The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted on Thursday to approve a resolution put forward by its chair, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt after he invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times to avoid answering questions during a Senate hearing.

“Passed by Republicans on behalf of the millions of Americans and their families still affected years after the COVID pandemic, the resolution to hold Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress has passed out of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by a vote of 8-5,” said Sen. Paul on X following the vote.

The committee voted 8-5 along party lines to approve Paul’s contempt resolution. During the committee debate on the resolution, Democrats attempted to table it multiple times but were unsuccessful.

The resolution accused Fauci of contempt of Congress after he hid behind the Fifth Amendment to refuse to answer questions. According to the resolution, Fauci waived his right to plead the Fifth when he made an opening statement on matters pertinent to the questions asked of him.

The committee can now either press for a full vote on the resolution in the Senate, where it would likely not meet the required 60-vote majority, or it can submit the resolution directly to the Department of Justice (DOJ), which Paul already said that the committee will do.

Paul also reposted multiple statements about the vote confirming that the committee will be bypassing the full Senate to bring the matter directly to the DOJ.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin reported on a statement from Fauci’s attorney David Schertler accusing Paul of waging a personal vendetta against the nation’s former COVID czar.

“Today’s partisan committee vote is a crude political stunt intended to punish Dr. Fauci for exercising his constitutional rights. The Senate should reject Senator Paul’s meritless and politically-motivated contempt resolution. For years, Senator Paul has proclaimed to anyone who would listen that Dr. Fauci should be prosecuted and put in prison. Dr. Fauci has committed no crime – and Senator Paul knows it,” he said.

“Today’s resolution is a continuation of Senator Paul’s personal vendetta against Dr. Fauci, who spent 50 years in public health and has saved countless lives. It is shameful and wrong that Senator Paul is abusing his power by trying to weaponize the Justice Department against an honorable public servant,” he added.

May he burn in hell. So glad we did not follow all the stupid rules or get the experimental shot. Couldn’t visit Mom In the home, or we had to sit outdoors, 8′ apart wearing masks for only 15 min! Fauci was the arsonist who set the fire them became the “hero” who put it out.

I don’t understand why democrats are willing to let him get away with ruining actual people’s existence. Democrats hate citizens that much! Heartbreaking to know that’s how they really feel about human lives. Yet faithful citizens will still vote for them and give them money. What type of such dystopia are we living in?!

Fauci over his 40+ year career in federal government was left unchecked and free to perform his crimes against humanity. The US put the fox in the henhouse and let him stay there feeding on the chicks without any oversight. Gain of Function research is nothing but a biological weapon to be used by people like Fauci for power. He and Biden should share a Jail cell for the rest of their miserable lives! He will receive nothing for any of his crimes he and Biden are smiling while they sit on their pallets of money!

Despicable Democrats taunt Fauci as their savior all the while he is responsible for more deaths from Covid than the Holocaust! I hold him personally responsible for separating families from loved ones. Two years I was denied total access to my mother in a nursing home. The home used the COVID-19 rules and guidelines to take over my mother’s complete care. I was always an active family member and my mother’s advocate fo her care. These nursing homes don’t like people like me, they don’t like being question! The last thing I ever wanted to do was have my mother in a home, it was the only choice we had! Fauci and his lockdowns to push his Vaccination Policies for personal gain was criminal. I as well as millions of others that lost our love ones during Covid without having that last handhold or hug were defrauded by this man. My mother and my Aunt both died during Covid in nursing homes. They died alone and that bothers me every day! Fauci a Criminal along with his protector Biden I hold responsible.

I am a Christian, I must forgive even evil people! But, bible does not say I need to forget! These evil people will face their maker one day, he will Judge them🙏🏻.

Crimes against humanity. Fauci must pay the ultimate price for his crimes, along with ALL of his accomplices. Prison is too good for this monster. The American people demand justice, and the ONLY justice will be execution.

That evil tyrant, along with ALL of his accomplices, should be swinging at the end of a rope for crimes against humanity. Justice demands nothing less. If we are to avoid a repeat then justice must be done “for the encouragement of the others.”
