A Medford man who is a lifetime Maine sex offender registrant for multiple convictions of sexual abuse against minors has been found guilty on new charges and was sentenced to over a year in jail.

According to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, in October 2023, an investigation was opened into a report from two minor females living in Medford that a local man had exposed himself and touched them in a sexual manner.

After over a year-long investigation, the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office authorized an arrest warrant for 63-year-old William B. Bradbury of Medford, who was taken into custody by deputies on May 30, 2024.

On March 20, 2025, a jury in the Piscataquis County Unified Criminal Court found Bradbury guilty of one count of unlawful sexual touching, a Class D misdemeanor, and four counts of indecent conduct, a Class E misdemeanor.

Bradbury was sentenced to six months in the Piscataquis County Jail for the count of unlawful sexual touching, and 60 days in jail to be served concurrently for each of the four indecent conduct counts — a total 14-month sentence.

However, Bradbury is currently out on bail pending an appeal of his conviction, the Sheriff’s Office said on Friday.

Bradbury is a lifetime registrant on the Maine Sex Offender Registry due to his previous convictions on multiple counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

In July 2017, Bradbury had a 22-hour standoff with police in the Town of Lincoln when they attempted to arrest him on felony charges of sexual abuse of a minor, according to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office.

In January of 2018 he was convicted in the Penobscot County Courts on three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, a Class C felony. That conviction led to Bradbury being required to register as a lifetime sex offender.

The one thing the State of Maine is easy on is number of years they should give offenders. But the State of Maine thinks they can cure them. In a year? Therapy and supervision is what they do now.

Sexually addicted and perverted, they
always reoffend. They cannot be rehabilitated. They cannot be trusted.
They cannot trust themselves. Sickening.

When will Maine realize, this behavior is not OK? These Perps will never stop and there is no rehabilitation for sex offenders.

Life long offender with another slap on the wrist! Another case of Maine protection of criminal’s offending against innocent lives (in this case children)! Maine use to be a good place to raise your children, Not Anymore!

Lock these offender’s up and throw away the key or better yet institute a death sentence for this behavior. That might deterrent?

Why don’t they sentence him to transgender therapy? He could begin his transition to a “women” by undergoing castration.
